Disney–OpenAI Licensing Deal
Disney has signed a three-year licensing deal with OpenAI, granting Sora and ChatGPT access to over 200 characters, costumes, props, vehicles, and environments from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars for user-prompted videos and images. The agreement excludes talent likenesses and voices. The partnership involves a $1 billion Disney investment in OpenAI, the implementation of ChatGPT for Disney employees, and plans to feature Sora-generated content on Disney Plus starting next year, with fan-inspired video generation launching in early 2026.

A bipartisan group of state attorneys general sent a warning letter to 13 companies, including Microsoft, Meta, Google, and Apple, stating that the “delusional outputs” of their chatbots could be violating state laws and creating mental health risks for both children and adults, citing media reports of a teen discussing suicide with an AI. The attorneys general, who made the letter public on Wednesday, called for independent audits of the products and urged state and federal regulators to review them, pushing back against the white house administration’s attempt to bar states from passing their own AI regulations.

Gemini AI Comes to Chrome on iPhone and iPad
Google is extending its built-in Gemini AI experience to Chrome on iPhone and iPad, following its earlier release on desktop and Android in 2025. This feature is accessible via a spark icon that replaces Google Lens in the address bar. It allows users to chat about the current page, request summaries, create FAQs, explain topics, or modify content like recipes. The chat response overlays the webpage, which moves to the background.
